Committee Descriptions
- After Six
Designed with working parents in mind, this committee assists the HSA with various tasks such as counting, sorting and stuffing envelopes, typing, copying, running errands. Committee has two co-chairs who contact members on an as-needs basis, with most meeting times scheduled for evenings. Occasionally, members may take work home to complete.
- Finer Art
Working with our art teacher, Mrs. Crump, this committee runs a fund raiser that happens once per year, before Christmas. Students’ art projects are used to create items for purchasing. Members will organize orders, deliveries and payments.
- Athletics
The representatives of the Soccer, Basketball and Softball/Baseball programs will be responsible for scheduling and attending the Sports Advisory Board meetings; informing families of schedules for games and practices; arranging field and court time; and coordinating the ordering of team uniforms.
- Class Parents
Two class parents are chosen for each class by the co-chairs and the HSA President. Class parents make emergency phone calls, organize class parties, provide general support for the teacher, and plan teacher gifts. Please see separate class parents volunteer form.
- Fundraising
A great way to meet and collaborate with other parents, this committee works under the direction of the HSA vice-presidents. Members can sign up for different fundraising functions throughout the year, including Tricky Tray and Casino Night, the two main fundraisers. Members may volunteer to be an event co-chair, or on a smaller scale, such as decorating, food, or clean-up. This committee exists so the HSA can fulfill its financial obligation to the school, as well as provide funding for special assemblies, treats, and items that directly benefit the students. Therefore we need many volunteers for this committee.
- Hospitality
Members collect, organize, serve and clean-up refreshments for HSA and school functions as needed. Some specfic events include:
September 21st and 22nd for Back to School Night
November 14-18 Book Fair, Bagels with Buddies, Book Fair Teacher Preview
January- Teacher Appreciation Breakfast during Catholic Schools Week 1/29-2/3
February - Open House, date TBD
March 21-22 Science Fair
May Crowning Breakfast, date TBD
June - 8th Grade Graduation and Kindergarten Graduation - Library
Parents may sign up to assist Mrs. Fiore in the library when classes visit. The parents check in returned books, and sign out books, as well as help students select books. This committee also helps Mrs. Fiore organize and run the Scholastic Book Sale each November.
- Lunch Program
This is a very important committee that helps our children in the cafeteria each day. Members of this committee may sign up for lunch on a day that is convenient for them to prepare orders, serve, and clean-up lunch. Volunteers should plan to be at school between 10:45 and 1:45. Our Healthy Lunch program is overseen by a Lunch Coordinator, who schedules volunteers and works directly with vendors to place orders. The Lunch Coordinator position is designed to promote healthy eating in school. Our lunch program offers healthy choices to our students and the Lunch Coordinator ensures that the items ordered meet Healthy Lunch guidelines. Additionally, a Lunchroom Manager (chosen by the principal) runs the kitchen daily, making sure students receive what they have ordered, and supervising volunteers directly. This is a fun way to see your child interact with his/her peers on a regular basis outside of the classroom. Children are delighted to see mom or dad in the cafeteria. Cooking skills not required. Please see separate lunch volunteer form.
- Morning Parents
Two parents per morning monitor the school doors as children arrive for school.
- New to School
Returning Trinity families call new families to answer questions and offer advice on school-related topics. Volunteers reach out to their “adopted family” a few times each year.
- Parish Representative
The Parish Rep is a registered parishioner at one of our three parishes who can communicate regularly between the school and the parish. Coordinating activities such as Catholic Schools Week, reserving rooms at the parishes for various functions, updating the bulletin on a weekly basis and maintaining bulletin board space at the Church entrance for Trinity news are all part of the parish committee and rep’s responsibilities. This committee provides an opportunity to get to know your fellow parishioners and the staff and priests at your parish on a more personal level.
- Playground
These parents coordinate activities for children during recess, as well as assisting the recess monitors in keeping the children safe. This is a great way to get some fresh air and play a game of kickball or jump rope with your child and his/her friends.
- Public Relations and Marketing
Under the direction of the Corresponding Secretary(-ies), this committee works to put Trinity Academy in the public’s eye. Photographs, captions, news items are gathered and submitted to local papers, church bulletins, and local websites to let our community see what a great school we have. This committee will also assist in Open House detail.
- Reindeer Run
We are very excited to introduce our new family friendly school and community wide event! Our 5K run/walk takes its participants through Caldwell and ends at our festive Jingle Jam in the school parking lot and gym. The Jingle Jam will have holiday shopping from local vendors, photos with Santa, holiday crafts and entertainment, and plenty of tasty treats. We need help starting now, through the day of the event. Jobs include: printing and mailings, data entry, publicity, solicitation - whatever your schedule, you can always help!
- Shopping Certificates
This committee handles one of our most profitable fund raisers. On a daily basis, at morning drop off and at afternoon pick up, parents are needed to sell shopping gift cards (certificates) in the foyer of the gym. This committee has a chairperson, and is directly supervised by the HSA vice presidents.
- Social, Spiritual and Cultural Arts Committee
The spirit of our school is fostered through celebrating together as a family of students, parents and staff as well as a as a faith community. This committee’s focus is to enhance this experience all around. You will help to plan special events that will appeal to all different interests. Party planning expertise will be a huge help here!! Under this category are returning events like Letters to Santa, new events like the Back to School Ice Cream Social, and pep rallies. The large part of the Spiritual focus happens during Catholic Schools Week. The Cultural Piece is introducing the students to artists and programs through inviting them in from outside of the school for presentation. Please sign up to be a part of this fun and vital part of Trinity.
- Special Services/Technology
This is Trinity’s answer to the Geek Squad. On an as-needed basis this committee will assist the HSA with streamlining data and communication using software like Ecxel, Word, Publisher, Access and web design.
- Trinity Marketplace
Another new committee for our school, these volunteers will promote, sell, and distribute merchandise with the Trinity Eagles logo and other items such as clipboards, totebags and pencils sold by the HSA. This committee will utilize programs offered by various companies, such as Target, Norton Travel Network, Papa John’s Pizza, Box Tops for Education and Campbells Soup labels, that give money back to our school.
